| Guide to Lake Protection and Management The Freshwater Society recently published a second edition of its popular 'Guide to Lake Protection and Management.' The guide provides some of the basics and specifics that concerned citizens need to help lakes survive and thrive. It describes how lakes work, how various lake problems occur, what individuals and groups can do to protect and improve lakes, and where advice and assistance can be obtained. Facets of Freshwater includes From the Executive Director, and Passwords, a column by the Freshwater Society's founder, Mr. Dick Gray. Minnesota Weatherguide EnvironmentTM Calendar A full-color, environmentally-oriented calendar series published by the Freshwater Society with promotional support from KARE 11 Television News. The Weatherguide features phenology, astronomy and meteorology information, along with stunning weather and wildlife photography. Minnesota Weatherguide Teacher's Guide The Teacher's Guide is a joint publication of the Freshwater Society and KARE 11 Television News. When used in association with the Minnesota Weatherguide Environment Calendar, the Teacher's Guide provides educators with step-by-step lesson plans in phenology, astronomy and meteorology. Designed for grades four through eight. A Citizen's Guide to Lake Protection A clear and reliable guide that outlines sound resource management practices, focussing on the preservation of water resources. A valuable reference for waterfront home owners and those concerned with water quality issues. 2003 Annual Report An annual review of the Society's programs, initiatives, finances and directives, including staff listings, publication overviews and recent forum analysis. 2004 Annual Report An annual review of the Society's programs, initiatives, finances and directives, including staff listings, publication overviews and recent forum analysis. 2005 Annual Report An annual review of the Society's programs, initiatives, finances and directives, including staff listings, publication overviews and recent forum analysis. ANS Digest A quarterly news digest funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that presents current information on the research, control and education of non-native invasive aquatic nuisance species. The Digest is currently in its sixth year and is produced in cooperation with the National Aquatic Nuisance Task Force. |
